Antony J. Bowman, was born and educated in Sydney, Australia. He studied at the London Film School before making his name as an Australian writer/director, with an obvious flair for comedy. Before his feature films, Bowman, wrote and directed several short films and two acclaimed drama documentaries – receiving a Silver Screen Award at the Chicago International Film Festival and a Bronze at the New York Film Festival.

Antony Bowman’s breakthrough feature was an adaptation of his novel, Paperback Hero(1999), starring Hugh Jackman.
